Follow Up Update

In case anyone is checking here for an update on Benjamin, here it is! I'm sorry I haven't been posting to this page much. No news has been good news! Life is very busy with two little ones. At the end of January we had a High-Risk Infant follow up for Benjamin. Below is the letter that the doctor wrote. It was hard to read some of it and remember all that he went through in the beginning. But he has come so far and is doing great! I thought I would share it with you. We praise God daily for this great blessing He has placed in our lives. Benjamin is such a joyful and happy baby!

Yes, we have 2 teeth already!
Here are some recent pictures of Cam's birthday at the beach in Half Moon Bay.

EEG Results

We had a follow up EEG this week and got the results back on Friday. The doctor said that there were no seizures on the report! Thank the Lord! So we will begin to wean him off the medicine over the next month. We are so happy and grateful to be where we are. He also had his 2 month check up and the doctor said he is growing and looks great! He does have a little hemangioma under the skin in his nose that is discoloring the tip of his nose and is slightly swollen. This just became noticeable in the past few weeks and I am thankful to know that it is not anything to be seriously worried about. We will see a dermatologist next week though just to check it out. So if his nose looks blue in pictures, that is why. Conner did not punch him. Yet. ;) No, Conner is really sweet with Benjamin and is always patting his tummy or singing to him. There is the occasional slip up though, like this week when I came in and found Conner bouncing a beach ball off of Benjamin. Eeesh!

Benjamin will get his first round of vaccines this week so I am praying that goes smoothly.

With Thanksgiving approaching I am overwhelmed in thinking about how much we have to be thankful for!

1 month old

Benjamin is 1 month old! We had a good pediatrician appointment this morning. He weighs 10lbs now! I'm so thankful that he is eating well and getting some meat on his bones now :)

We also had a follow up appointment with the pediatric neurologist this afternoon. After her exam, she said that she thought Benjamin look really good. In order to take him off of the anti-seizure medicine she wants to do a 4 hour EEG to see if they detect any seizures. The last EEG he had in the NICU did pick up some "sub-clinical" seizures. If they don't record any during this EEG then he will probably be able to come off the medicine. This will happen in the next few weeks. We are praying that there are no more seizures detected and he is able to be taken off the medicine. But we are thankful that there is medicine to help when it is necessary.

We made it through the pediatrician appointment all together! Thankful for a friend letting us borrow their fancy double stroller!
